I've been in the process of cleaning out my home office. Anyone have a suggestion about what to do with around 200 professional books I no longer need, other than goodwill? The more dated ones which no one would want are already gone, but there's some that are relatively new and some that comprise the board prep lists from rehab, neuro, and forensic.

The medical school doesn't want them. The psych dept really really doesn't need them. The analytic institute doesn't want them. And I don't have time to sell them.

I donate all of my unwanted books to the public library. Whether pleasure reading, professional manuals, or academic they generally are interested if they're in good condition. If you have that many you may be able to get some kind of tax write off.

What about the students at the psych dept or med school? I always appreciated professors who brought in their used books for us to scavenge.

Have you tried Amazon? They often buy books.

Reselling seems like your best option but if you don't have time for that you might see if you can find a volume reseller or used book store that can take all of your higher value books at once.
