Hello,
I was offered a Scribe position at the hospital I volunteer at. For some reason, they said you cannot volunteer and work at the same branch of hospital due to conflicting login ID's(I don't understand why but this is what they told me).
I already submitted my application with project hours from June 2018-June 2019 volunteering at the hospital, but now i will not be able to complete them due to the conflict. I honestly wanted to complete them and asked if there was a way around it but they said there was not.
Should I just start volunteering at a different hospital and if they bring up why I never completed those projected hours, I can say that I started volunteering at a different hospital and explain what happened?

I would advise you to simply maintain your volunteering in another context - whether at another hospital or in another volunteering position overall. Schools, as I understand it, are interested in you actually giving your time to a good cause. The thing itself doesn't really matter that much. And, given the fact that those were your plans when you submitted, you would not be lying. Just get the hours another way, and explain in your interviews if it comes up.

For example, I had projected future classes in my primary that I didn't actually take due to changes in direction, but that did not affect me negatively as well. Be as honest as you can with the information you know, and fulfill the hours you projected on the primary

Projected hours are just that: projected. It is easy enough to explained if ever questioned about it

Thank you! Now I need to edit some of my secondaries that I was pre writing about what I was doing over the next year -_-

I think it's not just acceptable but a positive sign that your involvement is evolving beyond what you originally projected. Almost anyone can volunteer, but being offered a scribe position reflects a greater level of trust and responsibility, and you will probably be dealing with patient care more directly than you were as a volunteer. As long as your hours aren't being reduced drastically, I wouldn't worry about it; you could include it in an update if you were going to send one anyway

Scribes have nothing to do with the patient, they only help the physician. Volunteers help patients a lot more than scribes by a looooong shot

I said patient *care* but at any rate, I wouldn't say they have nothing to do with the patient - you might not be checking in on patients to see how they're doing or if they enjoyed their meal, but you are observing patient interviews and physical exams, working directly with patient records, and have the opportunity to discuss what's going on with the doctor which is an experience that few people have before medical school.
