So due to personal reasons, I was unable to take the MCAT early. Thus I am scheduled to take it August 20th. I have been studying really hard and that is going well. But my problem is that I have a very low GPA (3.29) and decent EC's.

I won't get my scores back until September 21st. My questions is what should I do in the mean time (besides studying for MCAT)? Should I fill out my applications (primaries) before MCATs? Can I submit them without grades (I heard varifying takes a long time. I just don't know what to do. Do I even have a reasonable shot at a medical school in the states?

My last question is: What DO schools other then PCOM, UMDNJ-SOM should I apply to with these stats. BTW I am getting around ~30 on my MCATs. Practice.

Thanks for your help guys. I am just panicing and neeed some advice from the intelligent SDN crowd 🙂!

Your indeed pretty late. However if you get a 28+ on the mcat you'll probably be good. Apply to many DO schools like add at least 5 more.

I would certainly go ahead and fill out the AACOMAS app and get the personal statement perfect. Apply broadly just in case you don't get a great MCAT score (26 or above should do). You do have a reasonable shot at schools if you apply broadly enough (only you can look at the stats posted by schools to determine where you want to apply).
