Hey guys, I need your advice on what DAT prep materials I should purchase. I am from Canada, but I am going to take both American and Canadian DAT's.

So far I have Barron's DAT prep, I am most likely going to buy Kaplans and maybe CracktheDAT. Is there any other suggestions??? Also for CracktheDAT, should I purchase the whole package or just individual sections??

The Canadian DAT is offered in November and December so I will probably start studying for that on August. Then I might take American DAT in May/June after I finish organic.

Destroyer. Chad's Videos. Achiever and if you want more practice tests, TopScore.

For CrackDAT, just buy the PAT part. The rest of the subjects are kinda iffy, I wish I didn't buy them.

this might be dumb ? but where do i get destroyer from

I would not touch Barron's DAT book... its got lotta errors. However, it does have a decent PAT tutorial, better than KBB's I think.

Cliff's AP Bio is great for biology (some members also like Barrons AP Biology).....

yea agreed with dentalworks. the Barrons CD rom also has alot of mistakes
I started my PAT studying with Barrons, it explains the basis. then i expanded to CDP and what not.
cliffs is good for bio
destroyer for all the sciences (bio may be overkill, but w/e)
topscore
kaplan blue book for basis
also, i would be awake so early on a sunday on a sdn forum. i have no life. not to mention my dreams consisted of figures coming to life with holes in them and it was a virtual version of TFE. im not even studying for my DAT right now, apparently im traumatized still.

Dat destroyer, a good orgo book, a good gchem book, topscore.

Thanks for the replies guys!!!

So, right now I am probably going to get DAT destroyer, Cliff's AP biology, CrackDAT PAT and soap curving (stupid Canadian dental schools with their carving section).

Once I get a couple more paychecks, I will probably buy TopScore and Kaplan.

I would definitely get Achiever for practice tests. It's harder then TopScore but it really motivates you. I think TopScore sometimes gives you a false sense of security.

Genchem: Chad's Videos + quizzes, KBB practice tests, Destroyer
Orgo: Chad's, KBB practice tests, definetely Destroyer!!
Biology: Destroyer, KBB practice tests, old class notes
QR: Destroyer, KBB

Practice Tests: TOPSCORE
PAT: Crack, Topscore

19 first try...retaking soon

For me, seeing alot of questions is really helpfull so I purchased
The DAT Decoder.....You can get it off amazon and some other site it search around..

I studied the DAT using Barrons and Kaplan. Both books had strengths and weaknesses, but I found that where one was lacking, the other made up for it. The only thing that I could not get a good explanation on was trigonometry, and since I haven't taken trig in a decade, I was utterly lost. Still did well on the DAT though!

Academic Average: 20
Total Science: 21
PAT: 25

Don't forget QR, if you need practice in that there aren't too many questions in DAT Destroyer. Really recommend Math Destroyer as well.

I also really like O-Chem as a 2nd Language 2nd semester topics for prep.
