So I've read many threads on the pros and cons of Goljan. I plan on using this for dedicated period studying since I've been using it throughout the year. However, from what I understand, there is a lot of unnecessary detail that is more applicable to Step 2 than step 1. Which sections does this refer to exactly? Goljan lists management and treatment for each disease. Is the management part what everyone is referring to when they say Goljan is too detailed for step 1? It is impossible to "memorize" the book since it is huge, so I would like to know which parts I can just skim over and not waste time trying to memorize. Thanks in advance!

Goljan audio for dedicated prep. Goljan book for school or not at all.

people really just read the middle margins? I might actually try that.

he kills me with the like 3-4 pages every chapter devoted solely to infections
The most efficient way to use goljan is as a review book. Read the blue text and whenever you encounter new/confusing information, look immediately to the side of the margin to read a more in depth explanation.

Does the blue text still have information that's not covered in FA, or is all that stuff only in the main text itself?
