A question for the attendings and other residents out there--
Any thoughts on what key points I should aim to take away from a peds neuro rotation, as a psychiatry resident? I tried to ask that of the attending today, as he had asked me if there was anything I was particularly interested in, but he was not terribly helpful, and I don't have much background or experience in this area.
For what it's worth, I plan to do general adult psych in my future, and have no plans to do C&A once I finish residency. However I know some neuro stuff will likely come up during my C&A rotations, and eventually some of these kids do grow up to be adults...many of whom seem to have overlapping neuro and psych issues. Plus, of course it's on the boards. And I'd like to make the most of this experience.
So, any suggestions on what topics might be most helpful to read about, and what some of the finer points would be helpful to pick up during the next month. Any related areas that you all find particularly vexing and wish you knew more about?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
