Spring 2011 I am taking

Orgo II (have to)
Animal Behavior (good prof, however lecture covers very little of the exams, heavy on text book)
Immunology (amazing prof from what i have heard very dedicated, helps every student to the last bit, but class and topics will require a lot of work)
Psych 102 (I dont mind it)
Human Health and Disease (easy class, or so ive heard but it doesnt go for bio degree credits, but is listed in the bio category, so possibly sci gpa ?)

Total; 16 credits

and nop, no labs. I agree to anyone who says take orgo lab after you have taken orgo, I ideally want to take it the year after this, my 3rd year in the spring.

At first i was going to choose between immu or animal beh.
but i said to my self, i should take both. However I have heard they both require alot of time, and with orgo2 ? Idk anymore.

(edited with prof info)

I'd like input as to what you guy and gals have taken with orgoII and if i should ?

Do the other classes have labs? I learned to not take too many labs in one term. Immunology lab is especially time consuming.

If you weren't crazy, you wouldn't be going in to medicine.

Classes in undergrad were easy or hard b/c of the teacher, not necessarily the topic. So ask around at your school and see if other people think you are crazy or not. They'll be able to help you more than we will.

In my opinion, OrgoII is extremely time consuming. I would reccomend dropping one of your classes, and settling with 13 crd hrs (if possible). It would be better to score well in Orgo, than add an extra course just because. But, if you can score well in them all, GO FOR IT!

Hey -

I took Bio 2, Physics 1 and Orgo 2 all in one semester. However I did not take the Orgo Lab - I highly recommend waiting until after Orgo 2 to take the lab becuase at least at my school, the lab had reactions we hadn't even touched until 2/3 of the way through the semester so lab is waaaaaaaaaaaay easier if you've already finished orgo 2. That said I had the labs for physics and bio - was it especially tough - not really - did I study all the time - no, just before exams BUT I had an awesome Orgo teacher who I really understood so I didn't really study anyway...

Its all up to your learning style and how the classes are use ratemyprofessor.com and also ask around about how hard the courses are...

how crazy it is depends on you. empirically it seems like a reasonable schedule. if one of those classes at your school is particularly hard or you foresee yourself having particular trouble with one of the classes, or both, then maybe change things. otherwise it seems fine.

i think i took organic II along with 3 credits of orgo research, biochem I, molecular bio, monetary policy, and economic history of the us.

last spring I took

Physics I- 3
Physics I lab-1
Microbiology-3
Organic II-3
Organic II lab-2
Microeconomics-3
neuro-3

this was 18 hrs, and it was very difficult; I made a 4.0, but it was very difficult; there are really no breaks, specially because organic II is very time consuming; I think, like mentioned about, try not to take too many labs; my physics lab was only 1 credit hr, but the lab always lasted 4 hrs (not to mention the lab report); same goes for the orgo II lab; I wouldn't even take the orgo lab because its not required for med school) Try to limit the labs; otherwise, I think you will be fine. 16 hrs is def doable, especially with the human health class in there

I'm currently taking...

microbio-4
orgo II-3
orgo lab-3
physics II-4
stats I-3

Trust me, it isn't fun!

So i ve decided with saving Immu for the fall or summer, if i couple it with Orgo2 I might not be able too give the time i need to the class. And I actually like the topic, so Id like to take it when i can devote time to it.

And Animal behavior, the prof good lecture, very interesting, keeps you awake, but you have to read the text book to even do decent on the exams, but the way i see it, you have to read the text book no matter what, so i am going to take him .

OrgoII -4
Animal Beh-3
Psych2 -3
Human Health-3
Intro to Logic (hopefully get into, waiting for permission) -3

Total credit hrs- 16
i think its a solid sched, cant fool around the timings actually suck, class everyday (only class on friday is orgo...of course) guess you cant get out of it, just have to tough it out.

@plzNOCarribbean
