So my MCAT is scheduled for the 21st. Just checked the weather report and its going to be a nice 100 degrees out. Soooooooo, with that in mind, just wear tshirt and shorts to the center? What if they have the AC blasting in there. Its one of those standard centers.

I'd go with a gimp suit seeing as how taking the MCAT essentially is a five hour long masochistic experience.

Your suit. I hear ADCOMs randomly interview MCAT takers and are authorized to offer acceptances at the test sites.

.... I really hope this thread is a joke. Even my 9 year olds somehow manage to dress themselves in the morning AND bring extra clothing in case of weather changes.

It happened to my friend. This is a true story.

So two of my friends were taking the MCAT at the same location. One of them was dressed up in an Armani suit and the other was wearing Nike shorts and a hanes white tee. Well, as luck would have it, the ADCOMs showed up at the testing site.

My friend panicked. He realized he wasn't dressed appropriately for the MCAT. He hoped the random drawing wouldn't pick his name, or he would kick himself for the rest of his life. Well, his name was picked. The ADCOMs (I believe they were from some small school in Boston; Harvard or something) took one look at him, and walked away. The guy in the Armani suit got an interview. He blew them away. They didn't even make him take his exam.

Be careful. Whatever you decide to wear, make sure you think long and hard about it, and ask SDN and your friends for opinions. Ask your family members as well. It is a really big deal.

To answer OP (although it may be obvious):
-Dress to prepare for the worse/any temperature- that is, wear layers. If it's too hot, remove a layer; if it's too cold, put on/keep on a layer. So, wear something like a t-shirt and a sweatshirt (or the equivalent).
-Dress in whatever you'd be most comfortable in for 5 hours or what you've been wearing while you've been studying/taking FLs (i.e. I would advise against wearing something new or something you've never worn before...you don't want to be stuck for 5 hours in a super-tight piece of clothing that you just bought in the wrong size, for example).

i just wanted to add to this that if you do decide to remove a layer, you actually have to leave the room and put the sweater or whatever in your locker while the timer is still ticking away. at least, this is what i was told at my site. The best thing is to arrive early, get a feel for the temperature and based on that decide if you want to wear multiple layers or not.

This is correct. I was so hot during the PS section but didn't want to take off my zip-up hoodie since that would mean having to walk out of the room to give it to the proctor. I just unzipped it and removed it during the break after PS.

My advice is this: Wear jeans and a tee and bring a sweater. Once in the testing center, decide if you'll need the sweater.

Good luck.

Thanks, see this is why I posed the question.

Wear something comfortable! It may be cold. I wore sweat pants, tanktop and jacket on top. Comfy shoes.
