What to wear to white coat

Hi,

I'm a guy an I know I need to wear a white coat.

But under the coat, what should I wear? Does it have to be suit? Or just shirt and tie is okay? I forgot to pack my suit so I really hope it's not necessary!

Probably just shirt and tie, slacks, you know...i dont think you would wear a jacket under a coat lol.
