What types of extracurricular activities did you put on your application?

Hey guys!
I’m new to SDN and I was wondering if you guys can help me. I’ve been thinking for a while now about what type of extracurricular activities would look really good on a dental school application. I already know that shadowing, pre-dent clubs are major ones but is there anything else I’m not thinking of? Habitat for Humanity, working at a dental clinic, hmmmmm…that’s all I got…
Thanks for the help! 🙂

church stuff, volunteer stuff, athletics, mentoring... ya, that's what I can think of.

Going along with this, I know that dental schools like to see leadership...I was wondering what is involved in setting up a club or orginization at the school? Even if it is small, I think that being able to say that "I founded x club, or x orginization, and am currently the president" would be a big bonus....

Thoughts?

I am currently a Jr. trying to raise my GPA in order to compete, and also trying to get in as much volunteer/shadow, etc. before I apply in 2007 (to attend in '08).

haha...am new to SDN too, :luck:

HAHA! This is the oldest thread I have ever seen resurrected on SDN. Welcome ajdv.
