Iam a canadian permanent resident for 7 months and i have applied for Us dental colleges and waiting for interviews. To come to US for interview what type of visa i have to apply for? I dont work any where now, will that affect my chances of getting visa. pl. can anyone guide me!😕

you will need B1/B2 VISITOR VISA.. AS YOU Mentioned that you r here from last 7 mnths and you dont work rt now...actually american embassy has set few creteria like if you have job in canada, or you have family living here with property, you need to show them finicial papers like your bank account that u can afford to go U.S...You can check more for their web site..actully this happened with me, i went to get visa after 6 mnths of my stay,..i dont have a strong family ties neither i have property nor i was working that time, so they rejected saying that i dont have sufficient documents..i believe if u have something of what i mentioned above them i dont think that u will not get visa...Also you should start looking for appointment date as it will delay ur process more importantly as u have applied for US Dental school and if you recieve interview from there then ur VISA thing can become a hurdle in the way.. do it fast and all the very best:luck:

thanks! docn i apperciate ur reply.i have my wife and child who r also P.R. and i'm not taking them to US. but i have only 7ooo $ in account. is that sufficiant to get visa? r should i show that someone in US will sponsor my travel and will be my cosignee if in case i get an admission.
