Hello, with Trump announcing that the visa will cost $100k will that affect your plans?

I think that depends if you are employed and require an H1-B. Most students are on J-1 unless you are in a better position for a green card.

I thought if you wanted to stay in the US after graduation you need an H1-B visa?

For an H1-B visa, the EMPLOYER pays for the Visa. The surcharge is borne upon the employer.
