What was the average curve for your Physics course??

Im just curious b/c the class averages for my classes were usually 38% - 45%....What's the deal??

we actually had a 'pre-curve' based on the first exam (median = b-/c+ cut-off)
silliest thing ive ever seen... but it had an ok distribution.

also about your class average--
likely either one or a combo of the two:your class is terrible at physics / the professor stinks at writing tests/stinks in general

Well the prof. wasn't too bad..I kind've liked it. However, my opinion doesn't really count since I tend to learn everything from the book anyways. Im just curious of the approx. class averages across the nation. A buddy of mine recieved a final grade of 50% and pulled off a B.

My Physicis classes didn't curve...

Mine neither. But the exams weren't terribly difficult.

Mine didn't curve either, but test averages were usually 65-75% (although, there was one that averaged to a 59... there were a lot of unhappy people after that).

My physics class last semester was curved by the grading scale... an 87 was an A.

Plus he dropped a quiz, and had a bonus quiz (we had 12 quizzes that counted for 25% of the semester grade)

Our class average was fairly low as well, but my teacher was a douche and a half and couldn't teach.

We had tests with around 10 multiple choice questions...guessing average was passing...yea, it was that bad.

Somehow, I did learn most of the material pretty well.

We didnt have a curve. Ours were open ended questions and our tests averages usually stayed around low 70s.
