I'm racking my brain on this tough interview question. What's a good middle ground answer without seeming like you're avoiding the question or divulging a career-ending mistake?

Because I chose to pursue a career in dentistry, I concentrated on taking the required prerequisite courses, as well as some upper level science and math in an effort to present myself in the best light during the application process. I neglected or was not able to fit in classes related to social issues, classical literature, music, religion, and history, which I feel might have rounded out my education. Now I will have to put off these classes until I am older, more settled in my career, and can pursue what I have been told is called adult education. It's a small price, but in some ways I feel the education I originally intended on was not fully realized.

Talk about a time you came up short and failed at something, and then how you learned from it, and then, try and give an example of how you implemented the lesson you learned from that failure. Try to have this example be career related, and obviously don’t say something that could get you viewed in a negative light from a moral perspective.
