As the interview season comes to a close, I'm dying to know what kinds of interview swag was out there at the programs where I didn't interview. What was your favorite/most useful/weirdest/whatever swag item?

My favorite was the stress ball ducky at West Virginia, for its successful element of surprise, if nothing else. The most useful for me was a zippered tote bag from East Carolina. I have ended up using that a surprising amount already.

Georgetown had the best interview swag by far. Water bottle, nice pens, tote bag, georgetown plush bulldog

SWAG? I must be getting old.

I think I got some pens and one nice leather folio thing with minimal logos so I could carry it elsewhere 🙂

I'm with EMdoc, I dig the T-shirt from UVA. I was particularly surprised that it fits very well, since I'm swimming in most free t-shirts.

I think the most confusing one I received was a request for criminal background information at ECU, no other program threw that type of paperwork at me on interview day.

Love my key chain LED light from FL Hospital. They also had all the folders and pens in a backpack that they gave to us.

Fl Hopsital had cool stuff but what the heck was that lens cleaning card thing you can put in your wallet? I thought that was super strange....
Hahaha...forgot about that one. It didn't work on my glasses like I hoped.

How is that "swag"? I thought the word "swag" referred to loot of some sort, emblazoned with whatever is the place.

Are you some type of swag nazi?

Maybe you guys got the 'preferred applicant' interview dates for the people they think they'll have to bribe away from other programs. No swag in sight over here...

I got a couple usb drives and nice coffee mugs

Where were the coffee mugs? Now that's something practical. Some of my top progs didn't even bother to give personalized folders, just ones from staples. "We know you want us!"

Both Wisconsin programs

Anyone else keep getting identical flash drives? I have 4 of these now. No complaints on my end...just funny.

Upitt gave me a tee shirt which was nice, though I felt a bit weird wearing it. Felt like I was claiming some association with somewhere that I neither went to med school nor trained. But good for bed/the gym.

University of Michigan have us a nice pair of trauma shears. They even offered to ship it to people who only had carry on bags.

Coffee mugs and anything edible were definitely my favorite. Trauma shears, pens, pen lights, etc were second. Disliked the t-shirts. Just seems weird to have a t-shirt for a place I only interviewed at. Give me a shirt at orientation...

Offering to ship for those that just had carry-ons... that's some forethought! Impressive

I have a friend who has a Ziplock baggie with like 100 of those that he keeps getting for free. Not sure what he's planning to do with them.
Splitting up one 1080p porn.

the trauma shears from Michigan were noice. other than that, didn't get much outside of a few LED keychains. Denver gave me a pie because I interviewed on my birthday.

my roommate's doing Family Med and he got enough schwag for the both of us. Coffee mugs, water bottles, backpacks, the list goes on. Not to mention a lot of them paid for his plane tickets and ground transportation. He probably made money this season.
