Looks like a lot of people have done well! Congrats!

did you think people weren't being honest? there really is no point to lie here.

Yeah I think a lot of people are honest. I just know a few people who have posted higher stats than they have because they are ******ed.

You should edit thread to be 2 vars: DAT scores & prep-course, that would be interesting.

Its funny how this poll shows that the majority of people on SDN are scoring 22+ on AA, when in reality that represents like 2% of the entire population taking the DAT...

Also interesting I would say would be how many times a person has taken the test before achieving the scores they report in the poll. I also wonder whether schools take into account how many times you've taken the test, i.e. if you scored a 19 on the first attempt, might that be preferred over a 20 on the third attempt? I'm sure not.

Doesn't take a genious to know that either people are lying or that there is a definetely a statistical signifigance concerning the "quality" of DAT takers and their participation at SDN.

I think it's more the case that the higher scoring test-takers are more inclined to take part in the poll, thus causing the skew...

Hmm...I scored a 22 and I was in the 98.7th percentile...

I don't know how many people have taken the DAT, but it is pretty amazing that 28 of them showed up on this poll tonight...

I think you would have gotten more honest scores had you not requested people to be honest...you were asking for people to fudge your poll.

assuming everyone reported honestly, looks like a bimodal curve- one at 19 and the other above 22

Yeah, this and the fact that the more motivated students tend to be the ones that spend time on forums like these. More motivated students tend to study more and therefore have higher scores. Of course whatever you see on SDN is NOT the norm. Just check out predents.com, almost every school's published average GPA's/DAT scores are lower (as published by the school) than they are when calculated by the GPA's/DAT scores SDN pre-dents enter on there.

Example:

Official Stats for Case are 3.5 Overall, 3.45 Science GPA; 19.36 DAT, 18.5 PAT.

If we only looked at those on pre-dents.com whom were accepted, then Case should have a 3.63 Overall, 3.59 Science GPA; 20/21/20.

Most schools on there are like this. What you find on voluntary fora and websites like predents often aren't representative of the real world; just those uber-motivated and dedicated kids.

This is the fact, plain and simple:
