Full time - 16+ credits semester - 30 to 35 hours/wk - Assistant manager at a local sub sandwich/ice cream shop and worked as a TA in a few science labs at school.

I was a supervisor at the on campus "coffee house" which was actually a full blown cafeteria-like place. Best job ever: easy to pick up shifts b/w classes, free food, great social life. Plus I worked my way up into a leadership role which is good for ds.

In the beginning I worked at the Gap, then I got a job on campus tutoring other undergrads (did this for the last 2 years) which was awesome, and much easier on the body (and more interesting for the mind) than retail. Also had a job for a couple semesters as a tech in a research lab.

computer lab ass., IT help desk, lab ass., research ass. Pretty much an ass at most places))
Went full-time..

Cook at chipotle part-time. Summer camp councilor in between.

Haha the rice. That's part of the reason I applied to work there.

I forget what kind of rice to use (not that important)
Cook the rice normally, but float a few bay leaves on top of the water.
After the rice is cooked, add some oil (I think it was canola but i could be wrong) the oil adds a light flavor and prevents clumping.
They store it like this and right before it goes in burritos, add cilantro, kosher salt, and this super sour citrus juice. It's like lemon/lime juice but sort of chemical tasting. The product that most closely resembles it is Real-lime (real-lemon?) something like that.

resnet and undergraduate research in breast and colon cancer

Depends on where you wait tables. My wife did it in undergrad and had a blast .... then again with her personality and a little flirting with the customers she had it easy.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still doing it, because it works with my school schedule. I also LOVE interacting with customers as well, but with this economy, it sure is frustrating sometimes!

What I failed to tell you was that my wife's job was on a military base where a bulk of her customers were young military officers who were in flight school. Many of them had been away from their girlfriends for months. So, with a sweet smile, long, natural curly hair, and a bit of flirting, she never had a complaint and made a lot on tips. Plus, if anyone did complain, she knew the problem would be handled quickly by their superior officers since they were in the military.

I know her case is not the norm. Very few are like that. Even ones where you make a lot of money, there are headaches to deal with.

Biology lab assistant, college bookstore, realty open houses, painted houses.

after school counselor had a great time with the kids but need way too much patience for a group of 30!

For those who worked almost full time, how did you balance that with your school work? I ask because I'm considering getting a job for the upcoming school year as well.
