I always think of The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien whenever I see prompts like this.
I think the intention of the question is that it is somewhat vague and up to the interpretation of the person answering the question. I'm sure they get answers ranging from personality traits to professional traits to experiences to physical objects lol. Whatever you think is at the core of your being and you carry with you everywhere. It could be an experience that you had that has changed the way you are or it could be values that your parents instilled in you. It's a pretty open ended question meant for you to try and show the committee who you are.
It should be cohesive with the rest of your app but should shine light on a part of you that hasn't been shined on yet. Treat each essay as a chance to show a different part of your personality, but still staying with your central theme. You don't want to be repetitive and boring but you also don't want to be incoherent and immature.
