What are everyone's Plan B/Cs? If you don't get in this year, how many more times will you reapply before calling it quits? And if you do, what field will you pursue?

Make my verbal subsection respectable, become a professional applicant and if I haven't gotten in within 5 years, I will become a PA.

If I hadn't gotten in I was going to take one more year off while applying to PA school, and do that instead. No reapplication cycle for me.

I will retake the MCAT in April and murder PS this time (hopefully keep the other two the same or improve on verbal since I ran out of time during the test on that section). I will also do some more shadowing and continue working on my two recent volunteer activites. Then I will ask for my committee letter early, and apply super early, (AMCAS in June, secondaries as soon as possible). so yea, that's what I'm going to do. In fact I'm going to start living and breathing MCAT prep soon. I'm retaking regardless of whether I get in this year (I probably won't know if I get in this year until June or July). So that's what i'm doing. Oh, and I'm also going to continue working at the doctor's office full time. Gotta make that money.

apply to become a professional game tester for EA. 😎

also will definately start a hip-hop/rock/blues fusion crew.

continue working, re-take the mcat, trying to get my paper accepted in a journal...and reapply next cycle on June1

There's always allied health as backup. Vet, dental, optom, etc..!

Dannylee is a badass.

Just had to be said.

Continue working as a respiratory therapist, complete a real masters (not an SMP) in pathology and reapply. I might also increase the DAB content of my PS and application too, just to cover all the bases. :meanie:

Probably go to grad school and try to work my way into the back door of an MSTP. Barring that, I'll probably go travel and work abroad for a year while applying for the next cycle. Either that, or I might try to get a 1-year fellowship from the NIH and again, re-apply after that.

If all of the above fail, I hear there's a new subway opening up downtown, and they're going to need a few dozen sandwich artists.

How much does my chances increase to get into medical school with a MS in Biology?
I have a Graduate 3.5 GPA and will graduate next May, but I ahve not taken the MCAT because I have tried to get ready, but it feels like Im not ready or meybe I am being very paranoid. I have 28 years old and work as a social worker. I have volunteer at the hospitals and low income-clinics for a little bit over a year, however, my indergrad GPA is 2.5. because I was not interested in applying to medical school yet. I am getting ready to apply next year.
Help please any suggestion will be considered, thanks.

If I dont' get any interviews by like, February I'd start studying again to bring up BS section score up (in reality I was already scoring 11s and 12's on the practice tests, more or less I just screwed up on the real test because my brain died on an entire physiology passage that I should have gotten everything on-stupidest thing ever. And this time around I'd probably get my orgo out of the craptacular basement it's hiding in too, and maybe aim for a 13), and fix that stupid L on the writing.

Then I'd apply early next year, I mean my app is more or less gonna be the same anyways so it'll be a piece of cake next time around.

If I still don't get in I won't reapply. I'd probably quit my job so I can reassess what I'm gonna do for the rest of my life. Then attempt to start some kinda lame business.

LOL, I just realized that if I really wanted to I could probably just reapply and include some DO schools and skip the whole retake. But then again if I wanted to be a DO I'd have applied this time. Nah, it's gonna be MD or bust....

I'll probably try to do a one year post-bac at NIH...then either reapply or apply to grad shcool.

And probably retake the MCAT as well...
