If pt presented to the ER with cc of "my two fingers are tingling"?? No other sx....you might be surprised at the outcome. Again, what would you do?
 
I don't know...maybe take a complete history, then do a physical examination? If cortical signs or long tract signs, or a worrisome tempo, then image the head or C-spine (or both).

That's what I usually do in these situations.

But from the framing of your question, it's probably a tumor or something. Sorry if I stole your thunder.
 
Ask him which two fingers.... The right pinkie and left thumb mean something different than the 4th and 5th digits of the dominant hand.

My guess is a giant aneurysm, discovered on the CT/CTA that ED docs order on anyone with a neurological complaint...
 
Order a STAT EMG, just to see how many people would go "Huh?"
