So, I'm in post bach. currently and I have to finish retaking a few classes as well as taking organic chem. I used AACOMAS to calc. what my GPA will be with 2 scenarios:

1. finish organic and retake 2 "other-science" classes that I initially made C's in ( Sports Nutrition and geology) .... sGPA would finish at 3.72 , and cGPA would be 3.57.

2. finish organics and not retake those other 2 classes, but instead take relevant classes to med school, like genetics and micro. I have never taken these, so I won't get the "retake boost" if that makes sense. sGPA would only be 3.61 , and cGPA would be 3.51.

Which is better? Taking 2 unimportant classes to up the GPA, or taking important bio classes and having a lower GPA.

TL; DR? that's okay:

Scenario 1: Scenario 2:
1. nutrition 1. Micro
2.geology 2. genetics
sGPA-3.72 cGPA3.57 sGPA-3.61 cGPA 3.51

which do you like better ? After these, I'll be done and ready to apply in June if everything goes planned.

Your GPA seems fine and doing the retakes seems unnecessary (and costly). However, if you really want to take classes that will better prepare you for med school, I would say take anatomy.

I've already taken anatomy bro..took cell bio as well. it's pretty crazy how the grade replacement helps so much. I graduated last year with a cGPA of 3.18.

In that case, I would just relax and enjoy life prior to med school.

I'll do that after I apply. Right now I have to finish org, take org 1 and lab the winter quarter, and take org 2 and lab spring quarter. that sucks because I'm gonna have to study for the MCAT during that time.

Sounds good! Good luck with your studies!

I would focus on the classes you are taking now and do well in them. No need to try and take more classes and increase your workload unnecessarily.

Scenario 2 is better.

thanks guys. I may just take the two unimportant classes to raise the GPA, since I've taken cell bio and also physiology .
