Hi SDNers,

Thanks to your advice and support, I have been accepted to dental school!
Here's the deal: I have a deposit ($3000) due in early April. However, I am still waiting to hear back from schools at which I am waitlisted. Should I call these schools that have waitlisted me and tell them my situation? Or do I have no choice but to pay and just wait it out?

I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance :)

I don't think your situation will expedite them deciding to accept you or not. All schools know many students place deposits just to hold a seat while they wait on a decision from their preferred schools. And to be very honest, none of them are concerned about saving us the wasted $.

Is it Boston that wants $3000? Or which school, Im curious bc that is a LARGE deposit. I lost $2000 sending to one school and then a week later being accepted by my #1

It never hurts to call. Hopefully u will be in ur dream school at the end.

My guess is its NYU for their second deposit. I know it sucks but I would end up paying for it. And then silently weep in a corner my room. Good luck!
