You should be taking all the prerequisite courses now, even if you had
them before. Be sure to take them at a four year institution as a full
time student to be competitive.

thats a comment i got from med school.

i emailed a admin dept for state med school about my 9 year old physics series, trying to determine if the course met their physics requirement. I was suprised that they would want me to go back and take the gen chem and calculus courses i took many years ago in addition to the upper level chem and bio classes im taking now. pretty ******ed if you ask me, retaking a year of gen chem while having just taken o chem and looking to take biochem and analytic chem et al.

Oh great, I suppose I should do that as well 🙁 Just what I need to have to retake chem and calculus. Well if I do have to do it, I'll be doing it in the same order you are. At least you can expect an A I hope 😉

well...thats only one schools opinion...and they are top dog in the state so ....they are likely more picky than some. since im doing the trifecta of doom with part time CC prereqs with older classes, its proably good im not entirely sold and committed to the pursuit of an MD. 😀

Well, when I did my postbac, the postbac advisor suggested I needed to retake all of my (decade old) science prereq courses, but said in his opinion I didn't need to bother retaking the calculus (or english) classes. His advice worked fine for me.
