I'm looking for a free or lower cost broadband psychopathology measure with at least decent psychometrics that you don't have to pay per form (i.e., there is some agreement on the factor structure; the factor analysis was done in a responsible way; score reliabilities approach what's appropriate for clinical decision making). Maybe a tall order, but I thought I'd poll the group.

Thank you!

I think the content validity is junk for both the BASIS, and the PROMIS. However, both seem to be pushed down our throats.

The SCL-90-R is relatively cost-effective. Pearson has it listed for $77 for the whole kit, and the cost for stocking up on forms is not overwhelming, comparatively. While it is pretty face-valid, I recall it has decent psychometric properties for what it's doing, but I'll let you be the judge of that for yourself, based on your needs:

Yes, I've given this one before and I do like it. I was probably going to go with it if there wasn't a better option. It also looks like original SCL is actually free and the SCL-R changed wording of just a couple of items. Professional ethics being what they are, I'll probably still go for the revision (more and better psychometric research on R than the original), but man that's annoying!

Eh, just create your own spreadsheet and score it yourself.

Maybe permission was all I needed...

There are plenty of measures in which the scoring program/report, is largely a useless waste of money. The manual tells me how the subscales/indices are scored, nothing stopping me from just automating that process myself.
