i have taken 70% of usmle world averaging about 63% on first run questions (obviously much higher with repeats) and doing better than that on the shelf exams.

those that have taken step 2--did you find it similar to the shelf exams?

trying to guage how I will fair

dude,

i did U World and took the NBOME shelfs (D.O. ones).

I think World is good at prepping you for reading those annoyingly long passages w/ the lab values, but it didn't seem to help me (content-wise) as much as U World did for Step 1.

I did a lot questions from various sources (Lange, NMS, Kaplan Q Book). I don't know if they helped. I'll let you know more in 3 weeks or so when I get result.

It depends if you are talking about USMLE or COMLEX. I took both tests. I did a TON of questions in preparation for my exams and used just about every resource out there. Bottom line:

Closest thing to USMLE: USMLE World
Closest thing to COMLEX: COMBANK

just took comlex step 2 this am. felt is was VERY straight forward and frankly easy compared to usmle world. short questions. Takin usmle step 2 tomorrow. so we will see.

i am like 86% thru usmle world right now. questions change--grade stays the same

finished usmle. well, it was very similar to the usmleworld q`s and not as hard as the shelf exams. very wordy exam. long long questions but not too bad of a test
