Hi everyone, I been watching and reading these forums everyday but haven't really seen a thread addressing what is really considered applying late in the cycle.

I just submitted my optomcas application a couple days on 10/25 so I am still waiting on the optomcas grade calculations and for my actual application to be mailed out. I am applying to SUNY, NOVA, NECO, PCO, ICO.

SUNY is my dream school and I am really nervous because I am thinking by now, November, most seats would already be filled or almost filled. So I wanted ask what everyone's experience were for those who are applying around the same time I am or applied even later in the past years.

Thanks in advance!

Also here is a brief bio of what I am applying with if this helps...

My OAT scores are 330 for both AA/TS and have a cGPA around 3.3-3.4 (not sure because my optomcas gpa haven't been calculated and will be different since I retook a lot of classes). I am a Senior in undergrad and have ~80hrs of shadowing experience and I am President of 2 student organizations on campus and an active member of a cultural Fraternity.

You'll be fine. I think most schools consider anytime before December still pretty early. You have stats similar to mine and I received interview invitations from all of the schools you mentioned, we applied to the same schools lol 🙂

Oh wow, congrats!

Do you know where your going yet? I currently go to school in Albany so SUNY Optometry would be ideal. May I ask when you received your notification after your optomcas app was mailed out for that school?

Not yet, I ended up interviewing at ICO, PCO, Nova, and SCO and cancelled the test. I'm still waiting to hear back from SCO but I should be making a decision within the next week.

I submitted my optomcas in mid July and they sent out my stuff in late August.
