So, I got the EK Biology 1001 Questions book and I am doing really bad in the BS section but I only got like 20 days before my Test Date..for those who have used the EK Biology and have taken the exam, which chapters in the book, do you think I should practise to improve the most since I dont think I can do all before my test?? Here are the chapters....
1) Molecular Biology, Cellular Respiration
2) Genes
3) Microbiology
4) The Eukaryotic Cell; The Nervous System
5) The Endocrine System
6) The Digestive System; The Excretory System
7) The Cardiovascular System; The Respiratory System
8) Muscle, Bone, and Skin
9) Populations

I think 1-5 are absolutely essential. And 7.

I dunno, everything's pretty important. I would say to do a few passages and standalones from each chapter if possible. If your score still isn't improving, reschedule your mcat date.

I took the test before without the 1001 book and am taking this friday with, so maybe I'll update you. I just did everything though. The point isn't so much picking and choosing sections as just to answer as many questions. Its ok to do bad. Look up every answer and figure out what you're doing wrong. That is the big thing. Don't just skim the answers and nod in agreement. EK biology is my favorite out of the books I've used. I'm a little more luke warm to their other stuff, but the bio is good. Just keep chucking through. Maybe switch lectures for a day. I tried to answer 50 to 100 questions a day. Its not as bad as it sounds. You go somewhere and take the book with you. Do a passage. Do one while waiting before a class if you're in summer session, etc.

I prepped with this book for Jun 13 and it was mostly a WASTE.

Seriously, drop 13 bucks and go out and get "Genetics for Dummies."

Focus on Chapter 1, 2 and 9 in the EK book. Be familiar with 3 and 4. Skim the rest.

i would say the 1-5 and 9. but if you feel like you don't have a proper understanding of the material, grab another book and get all the details.

EK is ridiculously simple and skims over a lot of stuff and assumes you know what they are talking about. the 1001 book is also very good and will give you a standing on where you are.

Seems like definitely chapters 2 & 9 would be the absolute most essential. 1 gives you a good foundation for the concepts and talks about enzymes as well as respiration and krebs cycles and ETC. 7 & 3 would maybe be the next best choice.

The 1001 questions book seems to be slightly on the more difficult side because it relys on outside information more than on the passages. Those standalone questions are killer. Its a good book though. Wish the physics and chem and orgo for that matter came in passage form.
