Hi! I just got invited for an interview at VCU and I was wondering if any of you who have already been interviewed there have any advice. Thank you guys ahead of time for all your support.

Hey, Congrats!! How did you find out about the interview? did you find out today? Best wishes!

This is what happens..

You meet in this conference room. Dean healy gives a talk. Then you have 2 one-on-one interviews with faculty members -- one right after the other. They give you an essay to write (It's easy. I promise.) Financial aid talk. Tour. Student interview/lunch. Student Tour.

Just be yourself and know your application well. They will definitely ask you questions about it. Read the interview feed back page to get an idea of questions they're going to ask. And most importantly, RELAX! It's not a stressful interview at all!

Congrats on the interview invite!

Does anyone know if VCU offers in-state tuition after the 1st year for non-resident? thanks!

When I interviewed at VCU they told me that it IS possible to gain in-state residency after the first year. Im not exactly sure of all the details however.

Hi!! Thank you everybody for responding so quickly. They called me yesterday at 10am and asked me if I would be interested in scheduling an interview with them. Quanta told me that they only have 3 more days of interviewing left this month (Feb 10th, 16th & 17th). I have mine on the 10th. Good luck to those who are still waiting!!!

Im surprised they told you that. Dr. Healy and I talked specifically about that. In order to establish residency in Virginia, you need to prove that you have been living their for atleast a year without the intent on attending a school. Dr. Healy also told me that once you get accepted as an out of state student, you will remain an out of state student through your 4 years at school. He told me that he accepted an out of state student last year, and the kid applied for residency and got it, and Dr. Healy appealed it.

Nope!...money is the only reason they take out-of-state...very unfair to instate students with higher stats from better colleges
