I really want laboratory experience or some form of experience relating to health. If anyone here as done an internship for medical research, what's it like? Do you have to be "super-smart" in the math and sciences? Thanks.

You don't need to be super smart. At first you will be probably be doing menial tasks like pipetting, sending out blood samples, and other things of this sort. After a while you might come up with an idea that you want to test related to what is happening in the lab. As long as there is sufficient funding then you will have the opportunity to test your hypothesis, which requires a decent level of intellect, but you don't have to be crazy smart.

You need to be good with your hands and quick to learn lab techniques. Being smart is rarely necessary when you'll be effectively doing a million blood smears or streaking tsa plates.
