I recently accepted a job offer to work as a pharmacist at Wegmans. Do any of you currently work or have worked there? What was your experience like?

Its a unicorn job. One of the best. How did you get it? I had a rotstion at wegmans and my preceptor literally told I would never get a job with Wegmans because they are never hiring and no one leaves.

I had a rotations at 2 different ones. I did not like it. I did not like the culture and multiple pharmacists were less than pleasant with the me. It’s also about 2 steps from being a cult

This is true. But stores run like cults always seem to be the best for consumers and stockholders. Target, Costco, Chik-fil-A, Apple, Ikea...and, yes, Wegman's. It really, truly is the nicest grocery store I've ever been to.

Yea I had a rotation last summer in Wegmans and it's truly a unicorn job. My preceptor told me its like a vacation spot compared to CVS. Plus, they are hiring pharmacists in different area, but it's usually posted in intranet first and their interns always get the first shot at it, making it extremely difficult for us to look for a job. I would never leave this place if I was hired as a pharmacist...

All I know is that anytime I shop there and walk by the pharmacy, the pharmacist and two techs are always standing there relaxing, chatting with no customers or phone calls in sight.

Thats because they have a call center and central fill

Well I saw a job posting online and applied. I had a phone interview first and after about 5 days they called me for a second face to face interview. After a few days they offered me a pharmacy manager position. I’m a little nervous about leaving my current Walgreens manager position and starting somewhere new but i have heard Wegmans is a good company to work for. So hoping for the best!

That is pretty awesome...

There aren’t many stores nicer and cleaner than Wegman’s. Also seems like the pharm staff is chillin more often than not.

There's no way their pharmacys can be profitable in today's environment with all those layers of staffing. They might continue operations as a convienence but they're undoubtedly losing money in the pharmacy department.

Wegman's is good. They are up there with kaiser/costco in employee satisfaction.

I did a rotation there and I enjoyed it. I didn't feel used and abused on rotation. They are picky like all of the good ones.

Yes, no way they are profitable. Also they had 3 pharmacists on duty at the same time at times during the day, along with 3 techs. This store maybe physically filled 75 scripts in the store.
