earliest: when you are ready, but the fall of your junior year is quite common; that way you can retake in April if necessary, and apply early to better your chances.
classes:
General biol I/II
General chem I/II
Organic Chem I/II
College Physics I/II
btw, Human Physiology and Genetics are helpful, as is Bchm. to some degree.
Best wishes.
If you are smart about it, you can have all of the above classes done by the end of your sophomore year and take it then, so that you'll have the whole summer to study for it and won't be late in applying during junior year.

well i'm going to be a sophmore this year, and there's no way i'll be able to take all the above classes (still have a few math classes to take before i can take physics) in one year. sounds like a great idea though. i go to a community college so they don't offer genetics or biochem, or organic chem for that matter. i'll have to go to the next comm college in another town just to take organic chem.
