Whats the meaning of "shadowing"?

What does "shadowing" mean? When you are shadowing a physician, what kind of things should you be doing?

just watch the doctor, see what he does. ask questions about what he is doing.

THe one I got to shadow explained everything as he was doing it to me.

When I shadowed the physician, I not only observed and asked questions but was also asked questions. He treated me no differently than any of the residents he had. Luckily, I did my research before I went into clinic and understood what was being asked. I think this helped me a lot and helped my strong LOR. I think you should start reading some medical textbooks. Try to learn as much as you can without stressing. Remember, you have time later when you start your medical school classes to read the books 🙂 Take care and good luck
