If I am waiting on my second MCAT score, and working on secondaries in the meantime (MCAT score released August 30th) and will have my primary and secondaries in by the first week of September am I really that screwed? What's the point of submitting my primary early (with the crappy MCAT score, and a relatively low GPA) if secondaries are available to work on?

Do schools wait for all of the components (including secondaries) before consideration? If so, I can't see any point in submitting my primary early, the only thing that may come of it is early screening...

1st week of september definitely =/= you're screwed. source: personal experience.

im pretty sure that schools wait til all yoru stuff is in before they review your app... but do the primary early since it takes some time for it to get verified

By the first week of Sept, we will have reviewed over 600 applications and my school will have issued 80 interview invitations. The vast majority of applications wil not have been looked at yet and the vast majority of interview invitations will stil be up for grabs.

On the other hand, about 75% of all the folks expected to apply will have completed their applications ahead of you. So, you might realistically expect that you will get interview invites later in the season (December and in 2010). If you know this in advance, you might not get crazy when others, some with less impressive stats, are getting interviews & offers while you are still sitting on the sidelines.
