What's the point of retaking if AADSAS counts the grades separately?

Hello, all!
As i was reading the previous threads, i have noticed that the grades earend for retaking classes doesn't really replace the grade you got before. For example, AADSAD will caculate both what i earend, let's say, i got a C in my physics for 4 units, and repeated and got an A, which will be equal to a B for 8 units.

But, this is just like taking another class, which will not obviously replace the grade. I think it will be better off to take other upper division classes or other helpful classes for DAT or something, rather than retaking classes you got Cs. I am kinda depressed, because i have some Cs, and retaking these classes will not raise GPA significantly as i thought.

Is there any thoughts about this?
Thanks in advance to all.

There really is no point other than to do good in a class that you already know all the information. I know at Temple, if there are two applicants with same gpa and credits, but one retook all their classes and the other took increasingly difficult classes (with no retakes) and their gpa's were the same, the non-retaker would get in hands down. I would think that it would be the same at most schools.

it will tell them that you learned what your supposed to learn the second time taking it.

This may be true, but if this applicant was compared to someone who got lower grades but didn't retake his/her classes, then this applicant will be (hopefully) chosen 😀😉🙂

Yeah this is kinda lame huh? I think that retaking it only shows that you tried harder and mastered the subject, well thats if you do well the second time. Schools would probably only focus on if you really improved your grade and by how much?!

Its really pretty pointless. If you can take other upper division classes and do really good than I think that will make up for one or two c's or d's.

I have only retaken one class and it was math, I took a math class and did good in it but I later left college for a few years and when I came back I wanted to remeber all the algebra I forgot.
