I just recieved a postcard saying "your file is complete and is under review by the admissions comittee". My app. was completed in August of last year! I think that 7 months is a bit long for a postcard?!?

Anyone else get this postcard? Anyone know what is going on in St. Louis?

I don't think that people at SLU even know whats going on.

theyre so incompetent... they send me someone else's rejection letter!! at first i skipped straight to the middles part and was like "oh well, that school sucked anyway" and about throw it in the trash, when i noticed it wasnt even addressed to me!!

i called the office and the lady was like "yeah, stuff like that happens, we'll sort it out and let you know. can you just discard the letter please?"

i was like "um, yeah..."

They do suck. My secondary was completed back in Sept. and in Dec. they sent me a letter telling me to fill out a secondary and I called them and they told me to disregard the letter. They also sent me a CD describing their program and I got excited and thought an interview offer was on the way back in Dec. To make a long story short my file is still in review. 6 months is a long time for a file to be in review. They need to pull their heads out of you no where! Why are they so incompetent?

Welcome to SDN, nickmo!! :) Sorry you're having a bad experience with SLU. They seem to be a very lo-tech operation. I hope you're having better luck elsewhere.

I got the postcard in December (after being complete with everything but my Aug. MCAT way back in September) and the CD in Jan. In mid Jan. I got a letter informing me of a regional interview (no idea why I was not invited to interview at the school) at the end of January. I was annoyed at the short notice, but went, and my interviewer was the most charming man in the world. It's too bad their office staff are so error-prone and inefficient.

do they really take 2-3 weeks to get back to you post interview??? i interviewed march 5

They took about a month to get back to me.

They sent me an invitation for an interview. The day before my interview, I receive another invitation from them in the mail.

When I got my 'alternate list' letter, some poor guy's 'alternate list' letter was on the back of mine.

How you doing? How you doing? (McDonalds, Eddie the Echo)

Someone should send this thread to them!

did anyone get an attachment from them possibly today?

my computer detected a virus in the attachment and automatically deleted it.

I got a snail mail invite from them for an interview today, but nothing in an e-mail. I will withdraw tomorrow.

Someone mentioned 2-3 weeks for them to get back to you? It's possible, but I'd say that's an optimal time. I go to SLU med. It will take you at least a month if you attend a regional interview as the interviewer still needs to finish those regional interviews and report to the committee.

Anyways, were on break here at Saint Louis University. However, I think the admissions office is still there. This is usually a really really busy time of year for most schools.

Peace,

yo wyldstyle, how many weeks for an interview at the medical school??? @this point in the year, i'm very impatient and want an answer promptly after the interview

If you want to find out, call them up. They'll let you know. Heck, I hope you sent that thank you letter the day of your interview too.
