I've had my stuff in for a while and still haven't heard back from them 🙁 I checked our interview thread and it looks like noone else has heard in a while either. Do they usually take november and december off for admissions like this?

Hey----I was accepted to AZCOM, but decided to go to OSU-COM, so I just called them and declined my acceptance. Hopefully that will open up a spot for one of y'all! Good luck!

vocation, vocation, vocation 🙂

Dont' fret they do interview applicants extremely late. If you ahven't called the admissions office to check the status of your ap that might help.

Otherwise sit tight.

AZCOM finishes their first round of interviews in November and doesn't resume again until spring. They usually reserve about 25 seats specifically for the spring interviews. There is a group of people in my class (2007) who interviewed on the last day of interviews.

Good luck, and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Ugh I just got off the phone with AZCOM and they said they wouldn't be interviewing again until March.

Irish does this mean that there are only about 25 seats left?

That is what it was last year (approximately). I wouldn't worry though. It seems like most people that received interviews in the spring ended up coming here (from our class--2007). However, I guess I can understand your frustration.

Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Congrats to all of you! (shame on me) 🙁

I have not yet submitted my secondary app to AZCOM, but would still like to do so.

I would appreciate tips on how to answer the essay for my application. I don't know why I believe AZCOM would provide me with the education I want, I just think that it is a beautiful campus, and everyone on SDN says that Midwestern University (including the ice-cold CCOM) is a highly reputable school.

So why did all of you want to go there?

Environment could definitely be one of your reasons (nice weather and location, friendly and knowledgeable staff, students seemed happy, close to family and friends, etc.). You could also focus on our (AZCOM) high board scores, early clinical experience and skills, and new-school atmosphere with the backing of an established osteopathic medical school (CCOM). Also, we have the flexibility to participate in both traditional, hospital based rotations and preceptor rotations, which allows for greater hands-on experience (without the chain of command of intern, resident).

These are a few suggestions. Try to think why you like the school, why you would want to go here and then expand on it.

Good luck, and if you have any other questions, just ask.

Does anyone know what % and when people get off the alternate list? Also, my letter said that the list is not ranked. Is this true? Thanks.
