Okay, I just have to say that I am appalled by the amount of people coming up with reasons not to become a DPM on this forum.
Wah wah wah. I hate my life.
Wah wah wah. I'm in debt.
Wah wah wah. Some MD that I don't know said I won't be a real doctor.
PLEASE.
To counteract the generalized whininess and complaining, I ask all of you:
what attracted you to podiatry?
I'll go first: I broke the arch of my foot, and my DPM was freaking awesome. She is very straightforward "you have to deal with this BS with insurance companies, because if you don't, you won't give your patients proper care" and whatnot. She also helped people reevaluate their lives. And I think I would really enjoy working with the hardware (hee hee). Honestly I never really thought about feet until I stopped being able to use mine. Now I think they're the neatest thing ever.
