What's with the banner?

You all may have seen this before, but I just happened to notice it. There seems to be a new American flag-themed banner on SDN.

While I'm all for the red, white, and blue, isn't SDN trying to be an international "student doctor" website? How would we all feel if there were a Mexican flag-themed banner?

Veteran's Day is this week (Nov 11). Hence the theme, I suspect.

I noticed it went up on election day or right before. I assumed it was for that to accompany the front-page political polls.

Now that the HopeChange regime has overtaken the White House, it's apparently cool to be an American again . . . . hence, the banner that started on election night
