I just got a letter from them asking me if I wanted to stay on the waitlist. I have to return a form and everything. I already got one of these forms a month and a half ago... why are they asking me again? Did they make a cut?

sorry RP, they send that to everyone that didn't already reject THEM .. aka.. no cuts. they keep their waitlist as full and plentiful as possible 🙂

I got that letter too...figured it was a rejection when it came. Not sure why they want me to write back again telling them I am still interested. Anyway, my question is whether anyone knows the web address for filling out their financial aid forms. Sort of been lazy about it since I figure I have no chance of a waitlist acceptance.

Is everybody who wasn't accepted post interview on this waitlist? . . . that would make it huge . . .

Yep, I havn't heard of anyone being rejected post-interview. So, yes, I would imagine the waitlist is massive.

Hey everybody --

Please stay in contact with Wash U (and any other schools where you've been waitlisted)!!! Don't just wait for them to find your file again and suddenly decide you're worth admitting. The best way for you to move off the wait list and into the accepted list is to be proactive about it:

* Write them every 3 weeks or so letting them know you're still interested.

* Tell them why Wash U is the best place for you -- and why.

* Tell them about anything new that's happened to you -- in your volunteer work, in the lab, in school, wherever.

This shows your dedication, proves your interest in their program, and encourages them to think about you -- which they're not going to do if you're just one of many applications in a wait list pile.

Good luck to all of you!

Yeah, but when you're on like 7 waitlists... this is not as easy as it sounds. : /

I feel your pain, but wouldn't you rather work a little harder now than have all that free time after not getting into med school?

Besides, your letters to all 7 schools can be very similar, especially if you're just submitting updates. And farm out some of the work to other people, breaking up your letters with recommendations from other people.

Good luck -- I really hope you move off the waitlist quickly!
