hello,

I just got back from the Doctors office about my dizziness spells I have been having. And I am curious because the Doctor didn't do anything for me. She checked me over, saw that one of my ears inside of it was red, then wanted to test me for Diabetes, Hyperthyroidism, Anemia, and my Depakote levels. She even had an EKG done on me when I was visiting there!!! (I can explain why my heart was racing...I just drove up there, 50 miles, 1 hour, on the road with ppl who are complete idiots that dont know how to drive, I am learning a stick shift, so I drove the stick shift car up there, stalled out a couple times, all this before getting there!!! Also I am extremely fidgety and nervous on top of that simply because I am going to the Doctor!...wonder why my heart was racing by the time I got there?!?!🙄 )

All I went in there was for my dizziness problems, she apparently found the cause (my reddened ear) and didn't give me anything for it. I was about to get the tests done when the lab ladies said that I would hafta eat absolutely nothing before going to get blood drawn. so I hafta go up there tomorrow and get that done! Does anyone here, maybe even an otolaryngologist(sp?) person could answer this for me and give me advice on this because this just doesn't add up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it doesn't add up? Perhaps you should have asked your DOCTOR. Didn't you just get back? Who doesn't have a phone? You, the Dr.'s office? If you didn't understand, it is incumbent upon you to ask for clarification.

My guess is that the other drivers aren't idiots. High school kids can't drive.

I knew there was a reason that she wanted an ENT forum.

I'm not looking to flame you. However, it sounds like you need to discuss this matter with the physician that knows you and actually examined you. I think this forum is probably a very wrong place to second guess and back seat QB your healthcare provider. Your over-all picture just based on what you have provided in this scenario can not be regarded as simple. You mention depakote, and EKG, fasting labs, etc... You really need to have a serious talk with your physician if you did not leave with a clear understand of what his/her working diagnosis and treatment was.

I have heard of back seat drivers and monday morning quarterbacks, but what exactly is a back seat quarterback?🙂

This person needs a psych consult ASAP

Second string?

Kordell Stewart? (Note: I am a huge Steelers fan, and I think Kordell could be great, so no flames, please...)
