I'm curious to do a quick count... what ethnicity are you guys? Not your nationality, your ethnicity. Thanks for playing along!

1 for Asian(Chinese)

didn't want to poll cuz I figured I shouldn't offend anyone by generalizing their ethnic background based on my limited knowledge of world geography

phew that's some math! I usually simply and call myself American. Although culturally, the Italian side has the biggest influence... that whole big Italian family from NY thing (in construction, no less).

You should apply URM. That specific ethinc background represents less than 1% of all practicing physicians. You could go back and make a huge contribution to the Florentine/Sicilian/Hungarian/Irish/German/Swede/English/Scott community.

dad's mom: 1/2 scottish, 1/2 black african (from the area now known as Ivory Coast); dad's dad: 1/4 scottish, 1/4 Native American (part of the Algonquian Nation), 1/2 black african (from the area that is now known as Guinea Bissau)

Hahaha. It's crazy. You think something is common knowledge, but in reality very few people know it. I would have figured that a bunch of well-educated computer-literate people would be the last people to fall for it, but some people didn't even know the "ctrl + F" shortcut! My roommate didn't know about "alt + tab" until I told him about it.

Thanks! With my knowledge of what highly educated people might not know, I can totally body slam this "med school" thing. It'll be like dodging a police cruiser blindly turning onto a bike path. Wait, I wasn't very successful at that today.
