What's your school's curriculum like? Do you guys cover the basic sciences for a little bit first or do you go hard-core into therapeutics/clinical classes right off the bat? Also, if there was one thing that you could change about your curriculum or the way your classes are structured, what would it be?

At UIC, the purpose of P1 year is to put everyone on the same page. It is mostly basic sciences. We've taken a health systems class, Physiology and pathophysiology, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutics, Experential 1, and Pharmacokinetics. We don't start taking therapeutics until fall of P2 year. We have had a small discussion of some OTCs in Experential 1.
With regards to my opinion about the curriculum, it is okay. I do know they are in the midst of changing the curriculum, but I don't think it will effect me.
