Hey guys, when a school asks, what schools you are applying to. is there something in particular that you should write? if you are applying to like 10 im sure you dont write them all right? is there anything in particular that they are looking for?

On the UNLV secondary application it asks what other schools Im applying to, I dont know why, but I dont know waht they would/wouldnt want to see🙁

If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it🙂

Thank you

be honest. write in what schools you are applying to. when they ask in the interview, be ready with a reason that you want to go to THEIR school. (or not if you really want to go to another school...) all schools know that you aren't only applying to their school. i don't think there is a specific thing that they do or don't want to see. none of the schools i interviewed with had a problem with the fact that i applied to multiple schools. Good Luck!

how many schools should I put down? if im applying to like 10 i dont want to put all 10. right? but 5 is unbelievable or isit?
im not sure..

List them all. They aren't going to care.

I would put down all 10. You would hate to put down 5, be asked for an interview, and then say a different 5 if your priorities change in the interview. It would seem to them like you lied. I know by personal experience that the school i thought was my first choice wasn't my first choice at the end of the interview process. And that is something that we talked about during my interview at Marquette. If they ask why you applied to 10 schools, just tell them you thought it was better to apply to ten early, and take your time figuring out which school is right for you.

To a lot of schools integrity is very important. And if they feel you were less than honest in your application, that might be grounds for not granting you acceptance. And ten schools isn't really that unheard of... I don't think it would hurt you as much as being caught later, if you couldn't remember which schools you put down. 🙄 Just my thoughts!

I have had this concern too. On secondary applications, for example, they ask which other schools you have applied to and they only provide 5 spaces. What do you do? list only what fits or do you attach another sheet?

I think AADSAS send the same information to every school (10 in your case) that you applied. If you list 10 schools on your application, all 10 schools will know and they even know what those 10 schools are. So, just be honest, don't give them a bad impression even on the paper or at the interview.
I went on an interview, and I saw that they have the same copy of my ADDSAS application that ADDSAS sent it to me. If you paid for 10 schools, yes it will show on the application. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I remember. Good luck! :luck:

Hi....you are reading into the situation too much....they mean what they ask.......list the schools.....but yes....say that their school is the one you want to go...don't worry.....most of the admissions people won't even read that part

I have heard different things in this regard. Some people say that Dental schools get the same printout as we do but with the "schools applied to" section missing, so there is no way for them to know but ask at interviews or on secondaries. Some say they get the whole thing along with the schools applied to section.
Personally, i don't think dental schools would ask this question at interviews or on secondaries if they had access to this section. It's kind of repetitive, don't you think so? And if they are trying to find out if we are being honest or not, they can ask us different questions which can reveal the honesty in the person.
With that being said, i would list or tell them whatever school i've applied to.
I don't think it will have an adverse affect.

"but yes....say that their school is the one you want to go..."

I would be careful with this statement. I applied to about 10 schools last year, only one of which asked me what other schools I had applied to (during the interview). When asked this question I didn't say, "Well, I applied to 10 schools, but you're my 1st choice!" That's ridiculous and the interviewer is going to read right through that. Most people have that one school that they would go to above all others, and then the others they apply to they are just trying to ensure they can go somewhere, the interviewers/schools know this so there's no sense in trying to mislead them into thinking they are your #1 choice. Even if they are, and you tell them they are your #1, they probably won't believe it anyway, because EVERYONE that they interview says they are their #1 choice. I chose to leave out the "your #1!". Rather, if asked, "How many schools did you apply to?" Simply answer the question and leave it at that. They aren't going to ask you WHY you applied to each school, because they don't care. They care why you want to go to their school, and that's it. Their next question usually is, "Of all those schools, what is it about _________ University that made you apply here?" Everyone knows this question is coming, so you "should" have an answer, the "how many schools?" thing just sets you up for the REAL question.

List 'em all; honesty is the best policy and you should have nothing to hide concerning the other schools you applied to. Besides, 10 is a pretty standard number of schools to apply to and none will hold it against you.
