Wanted to surprise a friend by going to her white coat ceremony, but it looks like the ceremonies are after the first year? Is this true?

She's going to Baylor, by the way. Thanks for the help

I had this same question and could never find a thread for it.

From what I have seen, most white coat ceremonies are during the summer prior to your first year of dental school starting.

UCLA is holding the white coat ceremony on the 16th of September (school starts on the 23rd).

I know Case has theirs right before school starts too.

I figured it would be the same as med school (before 1st year) too, but I've seen a few schools do it after their first year, which makes no sense to me. I guess I'll just call the school itself. Thank you!

I think UoP has their white coat after first year. I think White coat for dental school is before you start clinicals, right?

Depends on the school. And the arguments about when it should be or what's too early are silly.

I would definitely call the school. Some require the purchase of tickets so you wouldn't want to randomly show without going prepared.
