Hi everyone - I am just trying to get a sense of when the best time is to submit apps for the 12/1 deadlines...

I am sure everyone has their application reviewed by the same standards, as long as they're complete on time. However, does anyone currently in a program have a sense if there is such a thing as too early? Or conversely, if right before the deadline gives off a negative impression?

Thanks!

In our program, as soon as someone applies, their materials are put in a folder. And then they sit in a folder...until everybody's stuff is in a folder. Then everything is reviewed, usually a couple of weeks after the deadline. So when you apply doesn't matter. Applying earlier lets you feel more comfortable that everything made it there, but you don't win brownie points for it. 🙂

It varied slightly from prof to prof at my program, but in general, that's also how pretty much everyone there handled it as well.
