I think I'm driving to Glendale the middle of next month to look around and put a deposit down somewhere, and I'll move in at the very beginning of August. School starts at the end of Aug.

I wish I could move sooner, so I could get settled, but I promised my boss I would stay until July 31st. 😛 Why am I so nice? I'm going to cash out my retirement money instead of transferring it to a savings account, so I'll be able to survive while I'm looking for an intern job.

If you are starting pharm school this fall, when are you planning on moving?

I'm still unsure as to where I am moving, but wherever I move it will be the 2nd week of July.
Roxicet are you taking your kids with you?

Yes, my kids are coming with me. I have no other choice, although I wouldn?t have it any other way anyway. Well?the other choice would be to leave them with their father, but he can?t even take care of himself. I?m still trying to do the math on how I had two pregnancies and ended up with three kids (and no, neither were twin births). After my divorce, I only have 2 kids again. 😀

My daughter is 5 and will start kindergarten this Fall, my son is 7. I don?t think life will be much harder than it has been for many years?just different. Bedtime stories will now be ?tales of Biochem?. That should put them right to sleep, then I?ll have more time to study.

Oh yeah, I need to get my car windows tinted before I go. Of all colors, my car is charcoal grey, pretty much black, and I'm moving to Hell (AZ).

Actually it's not much different than where I am...today it was 103 degrees in El Paso, and in Glendale it was ~109. 😱

Make sure you check AZ laws regarding tinting. Each state has its own rules (how dark, which windows, etc)

I'll be in L.A. for my last two pre-reqs at the end of this month(June) I figure that will give me some time to look for an apartment. I'll probally start seriouslyyy looking at the end of july though since school starts toward the end of August. I'm hoping I am not setting myself up for a stressful time in search of an apartment in the usc area or l. a. period. good luck in all your apartment hunting!!! :luck:

I'll be moving to South Carolina at the beginning of August. Hopefully, I'll find an apartment this month 🙂 ! Good luck to everyone moving.

Well....I'm moving to Orlando at the end of July/beginning of August. Fortunately it's only an hour and a half move from where I live now. My roommate's moving out the 1st of July so I'm going to try and move my stuff a little at a time. We went and got our apartment a few weeks ago so that takes a lot of stress off. Anyone else moving to the orlando area? If so PM me, I only know a few people there!

I lived in Tucson for a couple of years and I loved the hot, dry weather...I really miss it. The humidity in Texas is killing me. I can't remember how dark you can have your windows tinted, but I don't recall knowing a single person who didn't have their windows tinted. AZ is a great state, and if i recall correctly, Glendale is just outside of Phoenix (?) and Phoenix is gorgeous.
I really admire you and anyone else who is attending school and has kids to take care of on their own. Just makes your success that much sweeter. How old are you?

Roxicet you give me so much hope and inspire me too. looks like I'm also going to have a kid while in pharmacy school. Only difference mine is going to be a newborn !
It's really awesome that you managed to get into pharm school with 2 kids!!!

I'm 26, and yes, Glendale is northwest Phoenix. 😎

Your kids have to be so proud of you, Roxicet. 🙂 I worked with a pharmacist who put herself through school while raising her three sons. She said that it was hard, but that it was worth it to know that she could always support her family on her own. It sounds like you know what you are getting into and have the drive to suceed.

There's >60 people in the class of '07/'08 thread! Nobody else is moving? 😉

I want to go NOW! I've got ants in my pants! I have this song in my head...it's like a before and after story of before I decided to go to pharm school, and after I got accepted. It gets me going in the morning. 😀

The Taste of Ink...by The Used
Is it worth it can you even hear me
Standing with your spotlight on me
Not enough to feed the hungry
I'm tired and I felt it for awhile now
In this sea of lonely
The taste of ink is getting old
It's four o' clock in the ****ing morning
Each day gets more and more like the last day
Still I can see it coming
While I'm standing in the river drowning
This could be my chance to break out
This could be my chance to say goodbye

At last it's finally over
Couldn't take this town much longer
Being half dead wasn't what I planned to be
Now I'm ready to be free

So here I am it's in my hands
And I'll savor every moment of this
So here I am alive at last
And I'll savor every moment of this

👍 got my windows tinted today. It was a lot less expensive than I thought it would be....only $75. They're 35% in the front, and 20% in the back; those are TX laws, but AZ actually allows darker so I should be OK.

Awwww, 😳 thanks gals! Although, I'd like to be more of an example of what not to do. 😉 Anna, I don't think my kids are old enough to be proud of me yet. I think they really don't like that I have to work so much. I'm just hoping they don't hate me yet. I've felt guilty about going back to school, but then I came to my senses and realized that if I don't try to make our lives better by continuing my education, then what? I'll just be working TWO mediocre jobs and spending less time with them anyway to try to make ends meet. I have to strive for a career that's like bringing home two incomes, bc I know that I'm never getting married again. If there's one lesson I'd like my kids to learn, it's that you can't depend on anyone but yourself. 👍
