When can I take Step III in CA?

Does CA have a law requiring you to do 6 months of internship before Step III? Or can I take it as soon as I graduate from medical school? I looked all over the various web pages and couldn't find any good info.

You can take it whenever you want. When you register you'll see the state by state regulations. Dont think you even need to be a resident (as in medical resident) if you register in CA.

Some states need few months of residency, about 6-8, if you are not foreign graduate, before you can take it. But in some states you can take anytime you want but you will not get the license until you finish the residency requirement, usually 1 year for US grads. Its good to get it out during your intern year so you can focus on anesthesia later.
