Hey!!
Im not too confident with my OAT scores but I still plan on applying this summer for the 2011 semester and I was wondering how long it takes for the schools to grant you an interview. I read someones post that had mentioned that they didnt get their interview until after christmas break?? Is this because they applied late? Im just curious because i dont want to wait that long for a response when i could have reapplied with new test scores. Does this make sense? lol
Thanks

Maybe you should call the schools and ask them what they think about your OAT scores n stats. Sometimes lower OAT scores are offset by higher GPA but sometimes its better to just take them again.

Well my TS and AA are both 310...so i guess i was wondering if i could apply twice in one year..like use my scores i have now and if i dont get accepted than retake them and reapply for the 2011 semester again
Thanks again!

I applied in mid-October and had 4 interview invites within a month and all of my interviews were completed by December 20th. So, I applied later than most people but still heard about interviews pretty quickly. I honestly think it depends on your stats. Even if you apply in July but your stats are kind of "borderline", you may have to wait for a few months to hear about interviews.

You can't apply twice in one year (someone correct me if I am wrong but I think that this is the case). Once they look at your file they will either invite you for an interview or turn you down. I believe that if they turn you down you can't retake the OAT and apply in the same year...you would have to wait until the following year to apply again. So, if you are really worried about your OAT score you could retake it now, over the summer, or in the fall to try and improve it. You can certainly apply early in July but make sure to mark on your application that you are re-taking the OAT so that they hold off on making a decision on you until they receive your new scores. I hope this answers your question!

What about if they send you something stating what is missing from your file? I just got this from Salus, and I'm not really sure what it means, have they already reviewed my file or is just a computerized review? Did anyone else receive this and what is it's significance? Thanks..

I also got something like that from Salus. I was missing one letter of recommendation and they also had not received my OAT score yet. I think that as parts of your application arrive they keep track of it and if there are parts missing they let you know. So, I don't think that they have reviewed your file yet at this point (probably some sort of computerized review as you say). Depending on what's missing, they may invite you for an interview before it is complete. In my case, at my interview they informed me that they had still not received my final letter. Depending on what is missing from your file, you may want to call them to see if you can speed up the process (for example, they told me to send my final letter directly to them and not through OptomCAS at that point).

I, too, received such notification from Salus. I was sure they're mistaken, so I wrote back to them stating as much; they corrected the error.

apply as SOON as you can.. and if you have an TS avg of atleast 310.. you MAY be okay.. but probably won't be granted an interview until February.. If you have a really high GPA, expect an interview before then..

MY TA was 310 TS was 290 (i had mono when i took it) but my GPA is a 3.8 and I have tons of volunteer, extracurriculars and my essay was pretty good. I got an interview at every school I applied to within a month and I just sent my apps in Feb 4th.
