When do D.O schools usually start contacting applicants?

Does anyone know when D.O schools begin contacting applicants? I am sending in my application now, and I take my MCATs in August? The deadline for my first choice is February 1st. Will they start sending letters when they get your application or after the deadline once they get all their applications?

Schools don't wait till their deadline to contact applicants. All the schools are rolling admissions. If they're interested in you, they'll give you an interview right away or whenever they have open interview slots. If you're taking the Aug MCAT, the earliest you can be contacted for an interview is oct/nov. Good luck! 🙂

One awesome thing about D.O. schools in general is they don't have to wait until October 15th to give out acceptances like M.D. schools do. They are usually pretty quick about getting you secondaries/interviews/decisions. For example: I sent in my AACOMAS at the end of July last year. I got a secondary from UMDNJ-SOM in the middle of August. I got an interview for September 24 and was accepted October 17th. I know quite a few people that were accepted prior to October 15th. If I had submitted my AACOMAS sooner, I probably would have too.
