I posted this question on the other forum and I got the answer for MD but still don't know about DO.

I want to apply this year as early as possible. I'm going to be organizing my letters through Interfolio. When do I need my LORs? Do I have to submit them with the primary application?

Nope, your primary app has nothing to do with your LORs. You'll have to start turning those in once you're given secondary apps. Honestly, to avoid the headache of it all, I'd make sure to have your LORs in hand by June. But as is always the case, every school is different. Some schools will start handing out secondaries right away, and some won't do it until later in the summer, so it's hard to gauge an exact date.

If you want to apply as early as possible, I'd say get your letters by mid June at the latest. I sent my primary in on the first day possible. Got a bunch of secondaries by the end of June and first week of July.

I told all my writers that I needed it by May when the application opens. Even then a few people were late, but I wasn't ;-)

LOR submissions range from school to school. I know some schools say you only need the LOR submission when you interview. Some say when you submit your secondary. I would research all your choices to find out just to be sure. June is the safe way to go but if you do the research now, you won't have to ask later when things become more hectic. Make an excel sheet out of it
